Director of Membership & Business Development
Jacob Smith is the Director of Membership and Business Development at The Philadelphia Cricket Club and has been part of the PCC team since 2011. Jacob oversees the Club's membership and marketing efforts and is the primary membership contact for all prospective and current members. Jacob develops and implements initiatives pertaining to membership recruitment and retention, marketing, communications, member events, private events, and long-range planning. Jacob led the modernization of the club’s marketing strategy, launching a new website, a mobile app, social media accounts, and a member survey platform, and creating original content to engage with members and prospective members and raise brand awareness. The club's membership has grown every year in which Jacob has been at the club. Jacob also serves as Executive Director of The 1854 Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to supporting local, regional, national, and international amateur sports competition; preservation and maintenance of public facilities and artifacts related to amateur athletics; and enhancing the local community’s environmental health, beautification, and stabilization. Jacob was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and attended Stuyvesant High School before earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He began his career at the CORE Club in New York City prior to moving to Philadelphia for the opportunity to work at PCC. Jacob lives in Mt. Airy with his wife, Chrissy, and their son, Miles. Jacob is an avid reader and plays basketball several times a week. His golf game is a work in progress.
